It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 4/8/13

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!
After doing the meme for a couple of weeks, we realized this would be a fun meme to start up with a kidlit focus - anyone reading and reviewing books in children's literature - it can be picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, you name it in the world of kidlit and it's in! We have loved being a part of this meme and we hope you do too!  We encourage everyone participating to go and visit the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and to comment on as many posts as you can. We love talking books and believe in sharing and discussing what we're reading. We hope you join us!

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Jen Says: This week was a four-day week and the week after spring break and quite possibly the longest, jam-packed week ever. I feel like I didn't read that much this week...but I did! I reread The Fault In Our Stars and reviewed it on Tuesday and I finished The Naked Mole-Rat Letters by Mary Amato which I'll be reviewing this week. I listened to more than half of the brilliant Okay for Now by Gary Schmidt. I also read more of Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle. I got a few picture books in here and there but was barely home at night to read with my kids because of meetings. I struggled with my book pics this week...but I'm ready to get back on track now!

Kellee Says: This week was very busy for me as well. The first week back from a break is always tough because it is trying to get back on routine. This week I only finished two books: Paperboy by Vince Vawter (check back in May for the blog tour interview and our review) and a short, but sweet and hilarious audiobook: Live for your Listening Pleasure by David Sedaris.

Upcoming Book Adventures:
Jen Says: I'm going to continue listening to Okay For Now and continue reading Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle. I'm going to reread one of my favorite graphic novels, Gabby and Gator. I didn't get to reread Hound Dog True last week but I did meet Linda Urban and she's awesome. I'll reread Hound Dog True this week for sure and will probably pop in The Dreamer on audio. Happy reading everyone!

Kellee Says: I did start Book Love by Penny Kittle and Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle this week and I hope to finish both of them. Following that, I plan on reading a bunch of picture books as well as possibly start Small Damages by Beth Kephert. I'm also going to reread my the two books I plan: Hilda and the Midnight Giant by Luke Pearson and Harlem by Walter Dean Myers so I can review them here at TMT. Here's to more time to read this week!
