It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/14/11

It's Monday! What are you reading? is hosted by Sheila of Book Journey.
Each week we'll recap what we've read/reviewed the week before
and then look ahead to what we are planning on reading/reviewing in the upcoming week.

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Kellee Says: This week was lacking in reading (I've been having trouble reading during the week since school started), but I made up for it over the weekend.  I was lucky enough to read two pretty spectacular books: Bigger than a Bread Box by Laurel Snyder and Woodsrunner by Gary Paulsen.  Reviews coming soon!  I'm also currently listening to Airborn by Kenneth Oppel and it is the first full cast audio I've ever listened too- I love it! Giving each character a voice makes the story come alive even more.

Jen Says: I'm struggling with my real-life book reading myself. I was creeping though Lauren Oliver's Liesl and Po all last week. I finally finished it up over the weekend and loved it - a great magical ghost story!  I did cruise through Wonderstruck by Brian Selznick on Thursday night. It was seriously that good. Loved it. On the audiobook front, I have been jetting through those. I listened to Charlie Joe Jackson's Guide to Not Reading by Tommy Greenwald, Junonia by Keven Henkes, and The Great and Only Barnum by Candace Fleming. I've already started listening to The Death Cure by James Dashner. See! I'm on an audiobook roll.

Reviewed last week:

Upcoming Book Adventures:
Kellee Says: Coming up, I am not sure how much reading I am going to get done as I am on my way to Chicago on Wednesday for NCTE (National Council of Teachers of English) and ALAN (Assembly on Literature for Adolescents) Annual Conference!  Though I'll be surrounded by book lovers, authors and tons of books, I know that finding time to read will be so hard.  I do hope to get some reading in though.  I am planning on reading I am Number Four and The Power of Six by Pittacus Lore with me as well as 4 Baby-Sitter's Club Books.  During school holidays, Jen and myself (and 4 others) participate in #BSCChat on Twitter and since Thanksgiving break is just around the corner, I need to get my BSC reading on! Also coming with me on the trip are The White Assasin by Hilary Wagner, Buried Thunder by Tim Bowler, Alice in Time by Penelope Bush, Lunch-Box Dream by Tony Abbott and maybe some others- I hope that there are some amazing adventures hiding in those books.

Jen Says: I'm joining in on some of the NCTE and ALAN fun this week/weekend/next week, too! I'll be doing lots of driving so I have lots of audiobooks ready! I'm sure I'll finish The Death Cure by James Dashner, and then I have The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone (which is set in Chicago), The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson, and Zombies Vs. Unicorns which is a collection of short stories by various authors including Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier. For real-life books, I have an ARC of Neversink by Barry Wolverton and a signed copy of Titanic by Gordon Korman from the lovely people at Booksource to read. I also checked out a few from the library this weekend. Here's what I've got: Stick by Andrew Smith, The Kneebone Boy by Ellen Potter, and Eldest by Christopher Paolini. We've got a few stacks of picture books to read, too, but I've already taken up too much space!!!

This week's reviews:
The Fantastic Undersea Life of Jacques CousteauCan We Save the Tiger?Skippyjon Jones (Skippyjon Jones, #1)Duck On A BikePete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes
Check back throughout the week to hear about these books.
