It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now...you just might discover your next “must-read” book!
Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and I decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Jen Says: Yup, still more of the same from last week: Landline by Rainbow Rowell and The Understanding by Design Guide to Creating High-Quality Units by Wiggins and McTighe. BUT, more picture books. I'm so loving reading more picture books. We were in Milwaukee over the weekend and stopped in at Boswell Books. I had never been before and it was awesome. I savored a few I hadn't read yet like The Right Word (which I'll share my review of this afternoon), Quest by Aaron Becker and Sebastian and the Balloons by Philip Stead.

Upcoming Book Adventures:
Jen Says: I'm so looking forward to all the new picture books we're reading this month! I bought the Countablock by Christopher Franceschelli for Little Bean because he loves the Alphablock soooooo much. And also Louise Loves Art by Kelly Light for Peanut because, you know, little brothers and all. Both are super cute! I know they are going to love them and I can't wait to read them with them. I haven't read One Big Pair of Undrwear yet but I've heard great things and the author Laura Gehl will be hear to share her story of revisions on Thursday. I'm excited to read Gaston by Kelly DiPucchio as well. We loved hearing her talk about writing twists at NerdCamp Jr. this summer.
