It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 6/3/13

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!
After doing the meme for a couple of weeks, we realized this would be a fun meme to start up with a kidlit focus - anyone reading and reviewing books in children's literature - it can be picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, you name it in the world of kidlit and it's in! We have loved being a part of this meme and we hope you do too!  We encourage everyone participating to go and visit the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and to comment on as many posts as you can. We love talking books and believe in sharing and discussing what we're reading. We hope you join us!

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Jen Says: Last week I made a jump in my audiobook. I was listening to The Celestine Prophecy but found Eon on audiobook so I switched to that instead. I was super excited to read it but finding non-commute time to read has been tricky lately. We have also been listening to picture books on audio lately, too. We have Wreck-It Ralph, Brave, and Monsters University all with CDs to go along with them and then we listened to Pete the Cat with the audio and The Dot with the audio. The Dot audio is fantastic. We'll be checking out more audiobooks this summer; my kids are loving them! I also read Make Magic! Do Good! which was exactly the kind of book I needed last week. Can't wait to review it and share it this week. After hearing Alyson talk about Doll Bones, I had to grab it from my TBR and am about 40 pages in. It's definitely hooked me so far!
On a side note, I totally read mostly yellow-covered books this week!

Kellee Says: Confession. I did not feel like reading this week. It has nothing to do with the book I'm reading (it is actually quite awesome); I just wanted to sit around, play on my phone, tweet, watch TV, etc. I think it is the end of year. Whatever it is, I am going to push myself out of it ASAP as I hate not reading at all!

Upcoming Book Adventures:
Jen Says: This week I'll keep listening to Eon. Monday is my last day of school but I'll be going in on Tuesday and Wednesday at least so I have a few more days of my long commute to listen to it. I have a huge mix of books to read. I'm going to keep reading Doll Bones and then I want to read Popular Clone and Cloneward BoundWig in the Window. I'm looking forward to reading Notice and Note and have Write Away to read for Teachers Write. We're headed to the library to load up on picture books, too. We'll see if I find I have more time to read this week...I hope so!

Kellee Says: I have a lot to read since I didn't read at all this week! For this week's reviews, I have Like Bug Juice on a Burger, Dare to Dream, and Make Magic! Do Good! to read. I'm also going to start an audiobook since for summer school I won't be car pooling and will be able to listen daily. Finally, I am going to begin Notice and Note in preparation for the Twitter chat that is coming up.

This Week's Reviews:
Like Bug Juice on a Burger Prehistoric Actual Size Book Love: Developing Depth, Stamina, and Passion in Adolescent Readers
Dare to Dream...Change the World Make Magic! Do Good!
Check back throughout the week to hear about these books.
