It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 10/15/12

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now…who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!
After doing the meme for a couple of weeks, we realized this would be a fun meme to start up with a kidlit focus - anyone reading and reviewing books in children's literature - it can be picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, you name it in the world of kidlit and it's in! We have loved being a part of this meme and we hope you do too!  We encourage everyone participating to go and visit the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and to comment on as many posts as you can. We love talking books and believe in sharing and discussing what we're reading. We hope you join us!

Last Week's Book Adventures:
Jen Says: This week is one of those weeks where I was reading but I didn't actually technically finish much. I did finish Alice Bliss and I really enjoyed that! I also finished The Never Ending Story which was also really great. I started This Is Not a Drill and am well over halfway through Every Day by David Levithan. I even started a book called Mira's Diary: Lost in Paris and a professional book titled Mentor Teachers. See? I promise I have been busy...I just don't feel productive in terms of my reading this week.

Kellee Says: Not too bad of a week. Still feeling a bit like I am on Survivor, but more like myself every day. This week I finish *drum roll*.... *wait for it*.... FOUR novels. Now, one was The Scorpio Races which I'd been listening to forever, but nevertheless, it was finished this week! And it was awesome! The other three I finished were equally as good as well- Personal Effects by E.M. Kokie, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews and This is Not a Drill by Beck McDowell. Woot! It is a great feeling. I hope it keeps on happening. I feel accomplished. I also cannot wait to share the latter three with you.

Upcoming Book Adventures:
Jen Says: This week I'll finish up Every Day on audio and then will move onto Amy and Roger's Epic Detour. I'll keep making headway on the books I'm reading but I do also know that Hattie Ever After is making it's way towards me this week from Alyson Beecher via lots of tweeps and most recently, Mindi. I'm very excited to read that and will have DEAR so I can read Hattie when it's finally in my possession. (I kind of can't wait!)

Kellee Says: So, in the event of not over-committing myself, I am not going to plan what I am going to read. I am listening to As Simple as it Seems by Sarah Weeks. I wanted a quicker, but good book to listen to and this is the one that caught my eye. If I finish it this week, I will be listening to Ghetto Cowboy next. We'll see next week what I get through!
