It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 08/20/2018

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!

It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now...you just might discover your next “must-read” book!

Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and I decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

Last Week's Book Adventures:
This week I read the first volume of Paper Girls and I started reading Multipliers: How the Best Leaders Make Everyone Smarter by Liz Wiseman. For the last few weeks, every time I sit down to write this post, I realize how scattered my reading life is. It's as bad as my writing life. Life ebbs and flows and my reading life is definitely in an unusual place right now but I did enjoy the reading I did this week.

Upcoming Book Adventures:
I'm so excited to read Jason Reynold's Miles Morales and maybe get back to an audiobook this week. I'd also like to read more of Multipliers, it's interesting so far!

This Week's Reviews:
Check back throughout the week to read these reviews/posts.

  1. I imagine everyone is a bit scattered in these weeks of school starting, Jen. Happy reading & writing whatever you do!

  2. Scattered is an okay state of being sometimes. ;) Enjoy Miles Morales. I loved that one.

  3. I also feel my reading life is scattered, at times. I usually read one book at a time, but my reading plans are all over the place with too much to squeeze in and not enough found locally. I'm just glad to be along for the ride and squeeze in whatever I can. I'm going to have to run and take a looksy at Multipliers. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I didn't read your review of Drawn Together because a copy is waiting for me to pick up at the library. I'll come back to it afterwards and compare reactions. I hope you enjoy Miles Morales as much as I did!

  5. I am really looking forward to finding Drawn Together soonest. I like "random" "scattered" reading - I am sure it will eventually lead you some place where you need to be.
