It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 11/30/2015

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA!
It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Kathryn at Book Date. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now...you just might discover your next “must-read” book!
Kellee Moye, of Unleashing Readers, and I decided to give It's Monday! What Are You Reading? a kidlit focus. If you read and review books in children's literature - picture books, chapter books, middle grade novels, young adult novels, anything in the world of kidlit - join us! We love this meme and think you will, too. We encourage everyone who participates to visit at least three of the other kidlit book bloggers that link up and leave comments for them.

Last Week's Book Adventures:
I spent last week recovering from NCTE and still settling into life with a puppy. It was a little crazy when I was gone and then as soon as I got back, my husband was off to chaperone the outdoor ed trip for his school. But then we were all home and snuggled up together for a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving weekend. I'm happy to say that we succeeded in tiring the puppy out with all that we did! Yay!

That gave me some time to finish up The Genius Files with Peanut and to read Once Was a Time by Leila Sales. I'm so in love with that book and can't wait to talk about it when it comes out in March and others read it. Add it to your TBR now! I also read two mindfulness books, one of hand-lettered quotes and the other about different ideas for how to care for your brain. I also reread chapters 1 and 2 of Celebrating Writers by Ruth Ayres to prepare for our first discussion this week. I feel very accomplished except for not getting blog posts up...hopefully this week will be better!

Upcoming Book Adventures:
I'm hoping to finally read Strange Tools: Art and Human Nature by Alva Noe that I've been meaning to dive into. Otherwise, I'm not entirely sure what I'll pick up this week except for again rereading Celebrating Writers. I'm loving it but I'm super conscious of the fact that I need to really know my stuff when I lead our first discussion of it on Wednesday. I'm so excited!
