Let's Celebrate Some Tech Tricks From Students!

It's time to CELEBRATE This Week with Ruth Ayres from Discover. Play. Build.  Every week Ruth invites us to share our celebrations from the week and link up at her blog. What a fun way to reflect on everything there is to be thankful for.

This week I'm celebrating some tech tricks from students!

*throws confetti*

This week I spent a lot of time in classrooms where students taught me some tech tricks that I would like to share. When it comes to technology, I always share that there is just too much for me to know and invite people to explore and share ideas with me.
  • ctrl + r or command + r will refresh the page
  • In Google Classroom, you have to open an assignment first and then you can choose which type of document you want to create.
  • In Google Drawing, you can right click on the background and then choose a color for your background.
  • In Google Drawing, you can insert an image and then choose Image Options to change the transparency of the image.

Many of the third graders I met this week were learning that shift + 2 makes the @ symbol. It was fun to hear even Peanut come home and tell me about shift + 2. He picked it up fast though and was proud to tell me about it.

This is also a mini-celebration of my new position. I'm absolutely loving collaborating with the other Technology Integration Specialist, collaborating and co-teaching with teachers, and planning some fun initiatives for later in the year. I couldn't be happier!

What are you celebrating this week?
